The above named author was regarded as a renowned learned religious scholar of his time and community in British India. His influence was experienced in Punjab. Ghulam Qadir Asar was well versed in literature and knowledge of meters & rules of poetry. He acquired high position in Islamic Mysticism and was acknowledged with exceptional rank among his contemporaries. He was also awarded title of “Iftikhar-ush-Shuara” (The Pride of Poets).
Out of his six books & poetry collections available to us, one is named “Deewan-e-Asar”. Its composition was completed in 1888 AD. It was a beautiful calligraphic collection and also got printed in 1924 from Gulzar-e-Hind Press, Lahore.
This book has 1050 (One Thousand & Fifty) Verses in Urdu & Persian, which consist on panegyrics of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jeelani.
