He was the son of Shaikh Muhammad Hafiz and grand son of Shaikh Ahmad Ghous from Ansaar Danishmand tribe of Kaniguram/Jalandhar. So he was direct descendent of Shaikh Ibrahim Danishmand-1.

Shaikh Ahmad Ghous’s first marriage was with his maternal cousin at Kaniguram & from this marriage a son named Muhammad Hafiz was born, and Saadullah was the son of M.Hafiz.

In 1555 AD when Sh. Ahmad Ghous left for Herat and to Lahore, along with his familial compound, accompanying Mughal King Humayun, then his grand son Saadullah was just 14 years old. After reaching Lahore, Sh. Ahmad Ghous stayed here for some time and then left for Jalandhar (to live with his second wife from Jalandhar – this family chain was dis continued after two generations due to no off spring). However few of his family members, including his son (M. Hafiz) decided to settle in Lahore. They stayed here for eight generations, approx two centuries. and at last joined their tribe at Jalandhar.

During this period the grand son of Shaikh Ahmad Ghous (also called Haji Saad Ullah Lahori) became a famous Islamic scholar of his time for Fiqh and Hadees  at Lahore. He was also the Teacher of Shah Hussain (A famous Sufi poet also known as Madho Lal Hussain) in 1573 AD in Fiqh and Hadees.
