Pirzada Aurang Zeb Ansaar Danishmand, the eldest son of Muhammed Anwar Pirzada, followed the steps of his grandfather, Pirzada Ghulam Sarwar Ansaar Danishmand, stood out both in terms of his academic achievements and professional career.
From school years his quest for knowledge went beyond the taught curriculum and he was life and soul of groups such as ‘buzm-e-adab, drama club and a host of other such as extra curricular activities.
After completing secondary education, at the age of 18, he was selected by Pakistan Army as an Officer Cadet and sent to Kakul for education and training. After successfully completing of his graduation, in 1983, he joined Pakistan Army as 2nd Lieutenant in Corps of Engineers. In 1992 he was promoted to the rank of Major and was given an independent command. In 1995, while as Staff Officer in Operation Branch, on a matter of principle, he tendered his resignation which Government did not accept. He later left the Army to go the UK for further education. After completing his post-graduation in Highways and Transportation Engineering in 1998 he worked as a consultant in renowned international consultancies: JMP, Halcrow Fox and Mott MacDonald. He then moved to public sector and served as Resource Manager in Birmingham City Council, Traffic & Road Safety Manager in Bexley, London and Head of Highways & Transportation in London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames.
In 2013, he was offered a position to work with Qatar’s Public Works Authority as an Advisor in Highways Infrastructure Directorate. He is entrusted with the task of planning, design and implementation of the Intelligent Transport Systems in the State of Qatar. In 2018, his extra ordinary contributions in Study of National Intelligent Transportation Systems and Process Innovation were awarded with special certificates of acknowledgement.
In 2021, Post COVID 19, he resigned his job in Qatar and moved back to the UK for family reasons. He is currently working in the London Borough of Hounslow as its Head of Traffic and Capital Projects Department.
He is a regular contributor in different technical journals and is often invited in professional forums as a guest speaker to give his views on contemporary issues in transport policy and user behavior.
In 2017 he set up a charity name, after his father, Haji Anwar Trust, which helps to poor students of his old school with text books, stationary and uniforms etc. He is an avid reader and has special interest in literature, history and philosophy.
